Open-source Layer 1 blockchain combining Scrypt Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, with self-custody wallet software and public network…

Inactive post-quantum Layer 1 using ML-DSA-44 signatures, ML-KEM-768 encrypted P2P networking and SHA3-256d GPU Proof of Work.
Overview
Lattica (LTA) was an experimental post-quantum Proof-of-Work Layer 1 cryptocurrency whose genesis block was mined on 3 January 2026.
The project adapted the Bitcoin-style UTXO, Script, wallet and full-node architecture while replacing elliptic-curve cryptography with post-quantum primitives. Transaction signatures used ML-DSA-44 under NIST FIPS 204, while encrypted peer-to-peer transport used ML-KEM-768 under FIPS 203.
Lattica used SHA3-256d Proof of Work, implemented as double SHA3-256 over the block header, with an OpenCL miner designed for commodity GPUs. Its published monetary policy specified a 50 LTA initial block reward, halvings every 210,000 blocks and a maximum supply of 21 million LTA.
The project launched without a premine, ICO or developer allocation. LTA entered circulation through mining.
Lattica was developed as a small open-source project and did not undergo a publicly documented third-party security audit. During its short operating period, users reported network-connectivity and block-timing issues that the developer attempted to address through software and seed-node updates.
By August 2026, the project's public website, explorer and source repository became unavailable. Chainquiry therefore currently classifies Lattica as inactive.
