Open-source Layer 1 blockchain combining Scrypt Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, with self-custody wallet software and public network…

Payments-focused Layer 1 using X11 Proof of Work, masternodes, InstantSend, ChainLocks and optional privacy features.
Overview
Dash (DASH) is an open-source, payments-focused Layer 1 cryptocurrency launched in January 2014. The network is based on Bitcoin-derived architecture but adds a two-tier design combining Proof-of-Work miners with an incentivized masternode network.
Dash uses the X11 mining algorithm and targets blocks approximately every 2.6 minutes. Masternodes provide additional network services including InstantSend for rapid transaction locking, ChainLocks for protection against blockchain reorganizations, CoinJoin-based privacy features and decentralized governance.
DASH is the native asset of the network and is used for payments, transaction fees, masternode collateral and participation in the wider Dash ecosystem. Block rewards are distributed between miners, masternodes and the decentralized treasury system.
Dash also operates Dash Platform, a separate data and application layer secured by EvoNodes and based on Tendermint-derived consensus. Platform supports decentralized identities, data contracts and token functionality while remaining connected to the Dash ecosystem.
Dash has a declining issuance schedule rather than Bitcoin-style halvings. Its block subsidy decreases by approximately 7.14% per year, with the final theoretical supply depending on treasury usage.
