Overview
xCoin (XID) is a Layer 1 Proof-of-Work cryptocurrency designed to combine post-quantum cryptography, accessible mining, and a predictable monetary supply.
Launched on September 26, 2026, xCoin uses post-quantum digital signatures to secure transactions from the beginning of its blockchain. Its transaction architecture supports ML-DSA-65 and SLH-DSA-SHA2-128s, eliminating the need to migrate existing classical-signature addresses to post-quantum alternatives.
The network operates using MetalDAG, a memory-hard Proof-of-Work algorithm designed to favor hardware with high memory bandwidth, particularly Apple Silicon devices. Its mining ecosystem includes Mac Metal Miner (MMM), browser-based mining tools, and public mining infrastructure.
xCoin has a maximum supply of 100,000,000 XID, with no premine or founder allocation. Its emission model, known as the Annual Tenth, begins with a gradual block reward increase before transitioning to scheduled reductions of approximately 10% every 110,000 blocks. This approach aims to provide a predictable long-term issuance schedule.
The broader ecosystem includes an open-source blockchain implementation, wallets, mining applications, a public block explorer, and the MineDifferent community forum.
By combining post-quantum transaction security, transparent monetary rules, and a hardware-conscious mining design, xCoin aims to offer an alternative approach to digital currency infrastructure.
