BitcoinGold BTGS

BitcoinGold (BTGS) is an independent Layer 1 cryptocurrency network using SHA-256 Proof-of-Work consensus. The network is based on Bitcoin-derived architecture and uses a UTXO model, approximately 10-minute block targets and a scheduled mining-based issuance model.

BTGS has a maximum supply of 26,000,000 coins. The current published allocation consists of 23,500,000 BTGS for community mining, 1,230,000 BTGS for development and infrastructure, and 1,270,000 BTGS assigned to burn addresses. The initial block reward is 50 BTGS, with halvings scheduled every 110,000 blocks.

The network supports modern Bitcoin-derived functionality including SegWit, Taproot and Schnorr signatures. Project documentation also references BIP324-style encrypted peer-to-peer transport and a planned BGC-20 inscription framework for issuing tokens and digital artifacts directly on the BTGS blockchain.

BitcoinGold maintains open-source node software, desktop and Android wallet releases, public block explorers, Electrum infrastructure and developer APIs. The project's current core implementation and network resources are publicly available through its GitHub repository.

BitcoinGold (BTGS) should not be confused with Bitcoin Gold (BTG), the separate cryptocurrency created as a Bitcoin hard fork in 2017.
