Overview
About FireAnts
FireAnts (ANTS) is an open-source blockchain project that began with an Ethereum ERC-20 token in 2020 before launching its own native blockchain in 2021.
The FireAnts network uses a hybrid Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake consensus model. Its Proof-of-Work component uses the Scrypt mining algorithm, while ANTS holders can also participate through staking. The native blockchain has a maximum supply of approximately 210 million ANTS.
The wider FireAnts ecosystem has included the native ANTS coin, an ERC-20 version of ANTS, wrapped FireAnts on BNB Smart Chain and redFireAnts (rANTS). The project has also explored NFTs, virtual environments, digital cultural preservation and blockchain-based payment infrastructure.
FireAnts documentation describes a focus on preserving minority and threatened cultures through digital assets and blockchain applications. The project has also promoted the use of NFTs to record cultural items, traditions and archaeological material.
The FireAnts network has relatively limited current market and development activity, although public mining data showed continuing block production and Scrypt hashrate during 2026.
