Open-source Layer 1 blockchain combining Scrypt Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, with self-custody wallet software and public network…

Inactive Proof-of-Stake cryptocurrency launched in 2021 with fast block times and a community-focused, energy-efficient design.
Overview
Eloncoin (EMC) is an open-source Proof-of-Stake cryptocurrency launched in 2021. The project was created as a community-driven digital currency inspired by Elon Musk and focused on low-energy network participation, fast transactions and accessible staking.
Eloncoin operated its own blockchain rather than existing as a token on another network. Its original network used Proof of Stake and targeted approximately 71-second blocks, with users able to participate in network security by staking EMC through the project’s wallet.
The project maintained open-source node and wallet software, community channels and exchange listings during its active period. In late 2023, the development team announced plans to transition the project toward an “Eloncoin EVM 2.0” chain and introduced a planned coin-swap process.
Public development later declined. The primary Eloncoin repository has seen no meaningful recent development, the former official website is currently unavailable, and Chainquiry therefore classifies Eloncoin as inactive.
Eloncoin (EMC) should not be confused with newer unrelated tokens using the Eloncoin or ELON name on Ethereum, Base, Solana or BNB Chain.
