01 Β· OVERVIEW
Soqucoin (SOQ) is an open-source Layer 1 cryptocurrency developed around post-quantum security. Unlike blockchain networks that may need to transition away from traditional digital signatures in the future, Soqucoin integrates NIST-standardized ML-DSA-44 (Dilithium) signatures directly into its protocol.
The network combines this cryptographic architecture with Scrypt Proof-of-Work consensus and Auxiliary Proof of Work (AuxPoW), enabling compatibility with existing Scrypt mining infrastructure, including Litecoin and Dogecoin merge-mining operations.
Soqucoin uses a UTXO-based transaction model and its own native SOQ cryptocurrency. The project's emission schedule begins with 100,000 SOQ per block, decreases across three halving events at 250,000-block intervals, and eventually transitions to a perpetual block reward of 2,500 SOQ. There is no fixed maximum supply.
Its ecosystem includes SoquShield, a self-custodial wallet; SOQUPOOL, a Scrypt mining pool; developer tools and documentation; and research into post-quantum payment channels and confidential transactions.
The project has also undergone an independent blockchain security assessment by Halborn, which reported that all 30 findings from its FebruaryβMarch 2026 engagement were addressed.
Soqucoin's stated goal is to build cryptocurrency infrastructure designed for long-term cryptographic resilience while preserving open-source development and Proof-of-Work mining.
