Regus (REG) was a 2024 KAWPOW Proof-of-Work blockchain project focused on creating a decentralized marketplace for tokenized AI services and developer-built tools.
Overview
Regus (REG) was a Proof-of-Work cryptocurrency and blockchain project launched in June 2024 with plans to create a decentralized marketplace for tokenized artificial-intelligence services. The concept was intended to connect AI developers with users seeking machine-learning models, analytics tools and other AI services through blockchain-based payments.
The Regus blockchain used the KAWPOW mining algorithm and targeted approximately 60-second blocks. Its published network parameters specified an initial block reward of 2,000 REG, a maximum supply of 4,500,000,000 REG and a premine of 45,000,000 REG, representing approximately 1% of the planned supply.
Its source code was described as being based on Bitcoin Core 27.0 and incorporated Bitcoin-derived features including Taproot, Bech32m addresses, descriptor wallets and SQLite wallet support.
The project appears to have ceased operating shortly after launch. By July 2024, community members reported that the official website had gone offline and mining pools were removing Regus. The original GitHub organization is also no longer available, and the former regus.app domain is now listed for sale.
Regus is therefore classified by Chainquiry as inactive. This profile is retained as a historical record of the project's published specifications, announcement and original AI-marketplace concept.
