Open-source Layer 1 blockchain combining Scrypt Proof of Work and Proof of Stake, with self-custody wallet software and public network…

Inactive CPU-mineable Proof-of-Work Layer 1 using the YespowerLITB algorithm, 60-second blocks and a fixed 21 million LITB supply.
Overview
LightBit (LITB) is an open-source Proof-of-Work cryptocurrency launched in August 2019 with a focus on CPU-accessible mining, low-cost transfers and fast block confirmations.
The network operated as its own Layer 1 blockchain and used a customised Yespower implementation known as YespowerLITB. The algorithm was designed around CPU-oriented Proof-of-Work mining rather than GPU- or ASIC-dominated participation.
LightBit targeted approximately 60-second blocks and launched without a premine. Its published monetary parameters specified a maximum supply of 21 million LITB and an initial mining reward of 10 LITB per block.
The project maintained LightBit Core wallet and node software, CPU-mining tools, mining pools, public explorers and community channels during its active period.
Public development later declined. The primary LightBit Core repository has not received meaningful updates since 2020, and the project's historical block explorers are currently unavailable. Chainquiry therefore classifies LightBit as inactive.
LightBit (LITB) should not be confused with unrelated companies and trading services that also use the Lightbit name.
